Kiki Health Moringa Leaf Powder

Kiki Health Moringa Leaf Powder

– This is my second product review from the KIKI Health brand, following my review of their Hemp Protein powder, this time around I am trying their Moringa Leaf powder.

What is Moringa Leaf?

Moringa is a plant that is native to the sub-Himalayan areas of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan. It is also grown in the tropics. It is fast-growing, drought-resistant tree with the leaves, bark, flowers, fruit, seeds, and root being used to make medicine.

The leaves from the Moringa plant are the most nutritious part providing a significant source of vitamins (B,C A, K), minerals (managanese, calcium), protein and other essential nutrients.

As an example of how great and what a Super Food Moringa is, one hundred grams of dry moringa leaf contains:

  • 9 times the protein of yogurt
  • 10 times the vitamin A of carrots
  • 15 times the potassium of bananas
  • 17 times the calcium of milk
  • 12 times the vitamin C of oranges
  • 25 times the iron of spinach

It has also been linked to maintaining health cholesterol levels, reduce inflammation and can lower blood sugar levels. (source)

KIKI’s Organic Moringa Leaf Powder

The Moringa powder comes in a 300g tub priced at £14.95 including free delivery. 300g will give you approximately 20 servings – give or take depending on how your using it.

The powder itself is a dark green colour similar to the Hemp powder but I little darker, it’s a fine powder and taste wise (from dipping my finger in it) is earthy with a little tobacco essence to it which people I had trying it around the office really liked the smell and most importantly taste of.

It’s very versatile, it mixes easily with fruit juice or water, can be even baked into cakes (healthy cakes of course!) but the best use for it is sprinkling it on to a great tasty fresh salad – it just gives it a bit of a kick.

You can of course also add it to your usual powder supplement or green juice of choice.

Definitely recommend.

Looking online and at the uses for Moringa leaf you’d be forgiven for thinking that this is some kind of snake oil. The fact is though, Moringa is a superfood and although not all health claims have been fully scientifically substantiated yet there is enough evidence out there to warrant taking this great quality and versatile supplement.
