Asics Zaraca Running Shoe

Asics Zaraca Running Shoe

It has been a little while since I was doing some serious running training and having been stuck in this particular rut before I knew what I had to do, treat myself!

Let’s face it, you put in the miles & hours of running, you pushed yourself to your limit on the day & apart from the congratulatory drink after the race what better way to reward yourself & to motivate back into running than buying a new piece of kit and my new piece of kit are some spanking new running shoes.

Asics have long been my brand of choice when it comes to a running shoe. I trained in them, ran races in them & when my old pair of shoes finally gave in I chose these, the Asics Zaraca 2 – the second incarnation of the very popular Zaraca’s

Asics Zaraca Running Shoe My Gym

Lightweight, weighing in at just 550g (for the pair) for my size 9.5 (44.5) feet you would hardly know your wearing them. They have a flexible midsole for a more natural feeling run, while the full length Guidance Line helps you run more efficiently  as well as ensuring correct foot positioning

The Asics Gel cushioning system in the rear foot  makes them feel soft yet supportive to run on while the fit on the whole of the foot is reassuringly tight.

But it’s the design that I really love, the style is sleek & minimalist, bright & colourful perfect for summer with a printed on Asics emblem/ pattern on the side.  These are without a doubt fun running shoes.

Pros –

Lightweight & Comfortable

Perfect for road running

Great colours & design

Amazing value for money RRP £70

Cons –

Not as ‘High-End’  or as technical that some runners might need, designed more for the neutral runner.

Final Verdict – 9/10

I have brought more technical & more expensive  running shoes from Asics (& other brands) before & they’ve been great.

After a good few hours running in the Gel Zaraca 2 however I can say that these are an absolute joy to wear & train in. For the price, for me, they offer outstanding value.
