2UNDR Gear Shift Underwear Review

2UNDR Gear Shift Underwear Review
– In case you have never heard of the men’s underwear company 2UNDR you’re not alone, up until recently I hadn’t heard of them either. 2UNDR is a Canadian underwear brand based in Vancouver created by Jeff Williams.
The brand was born out of the realisation that base and compression layers were being used more and more growing in popularity yet the underwear itself had often been overlooked in this category. There are four types of pant from 2UNDR; Swing Shift, Day Shift, Power Shit and the version I’m reviewing here the Gear Shift.
Gear Shift is the best for the serious gym workout, running or any kind of strenuous competition or activity.
Design
It is designed with an athletic cut to give a compression-like feel using a material that they call Cold Skin which is a high performance thermal reduction fabric that promotes cooling. Sweat is wick’d away and the flat-locked stitching and construction seams are intelligently designed to avoid potential rub zones.

They also feature something called the “Joey Pouch” which, you can probably guess from the name, was an idea conceived from kangaroos. “The Joey Pouch is a soft and comfortable environment for your most valuable assets. Constructed of premium soft mesh and integrated flat locked seams, the pouch delivers the perfect fit while preventing unwanted skin contact. Side effects include a visually larger profile” 2UNDR
The Joey Pouch is constructed from this Cold Skin fabric which is, according to the marketing, made up of 100% natural minerals – crushed Jade to be exact is woven into the fabric which aids in the control of bacteria and fungus.
Away from the Joey Pouch the rest of the underwear is made from a blend of 90% Polyester & 10% Spandex which provides a soft, smooth and supportive feel. The extra long leg length on the briefs has been designed to prevent chaffing or rubbing.

So, does it all work?
Actually, yes. I have done a few long distance runs in these pants and I have definitely been more comfortable during and at the end in these than my normal Calvins’. The wicking properties work a treat and without giving you all ‘too much information’ I was dry & cool where it matters.
I’ve been using the one pair for a month now (not everyday obviously!) they still look great as when I first took them out of the packaging. They still provide support, no fraying or bobbling especially in the rub areas around the thighs. Considering how much running I have been doing, that’s pretty impressive.
Pros –
Comfortable and soft.
Well constructed.
Cooling and anti-chaffing
Cons –
A little pricey for one brief.
Verdict –
A great pair of sports underwear. They do the job, keeping you cool and dry during intensive workouts while also preventing any rubbing or chaffing. The construction and the quality of the fabric is excellent and although a little on the pricey side they will last and aid in your training.
Not your every day briefs!
