Myles Leask Interview

Myles Leask interview

– This weeks star interview comes from the actor, fitness model, PT and entrepreneur Myles Leask who has just launched an app to help you get that Cover Model Body. Luckily this busy guy still managed to find time to answer my questions, thanks Myles!

Age: 26

Height: 6ft 2

Weight: 90kg

What made you get into bodybuilding?

To be honest I would never class myself as a bodybuilder I am a commercial/fitness model and actor with a large interest in training and a strong background in sport. For example I started playing rugby and doing martial arts at the age of 6 and when i stopped both of these at around 19 I was looking for something to fill the void.

When did you first start seriously training?

I first stepped foot in a gym when i was about 13 for rugby but i only took it seriously after i stopped playing at around 19.

Roughly how often do you train in the week & how long does a typical session last?

I train twice a day most days although sometimes its impossible to train due to having 6am call times and not wrapping till late at night but i would say I average about 10 a week and both my cardio and my weight sessions last about an hour.

How did becoming a fitness model come about?

I was scouted by a photographer when i was 22 and then i quickly shot with several and then got signed to my agents before moving to London to do it full time.

Which is your favourite & worst muscle group to train?

Favourite is legs as its alway so challenging which motivates me a lot . Worst is probably abs or biceps just because its so boring.

What are your goals for 2015 and beyond?

This year for me is very busy the main focus will be acting and trying to give that everything I can but also ill be indulging my entrepreneureal streak as I have a fitness app coming to iPhone which is currently in beta testing and should launch in a few weeks as well as a number of other projects.

Any nutrition tips you can share or popular misconceptions that frustrate you?

Carbs are not your enemy and you don’t have to be boring when it comes to food its simple if you want to lose weight burn more than what you eat I have never understood why people make it sound so difficult its such basic equation.

You’re a Protein Dynamix Ambassador, how did that come about and what has it been like working with them?

PD approached me through my agent with a proposition which after trying their products I nearly bit their hand off for lol, its been great so far, the benefits of signing with a new brand is you see them develop and they really build the brand around you as well and listen to your creative input.

What supplements can you recommend from them that you use?

My absolute essential stack is always Dynapro Lean, Ultra Burn, CLA and Dynamo

What’s your favourite workout music track/s?

Anything metal really AC/DC metallica etc but also for cardio i like to get lost in some Pendulum

Who do you look up to or admire & why?

Obvious choice for most in the industry its Arnold Schwarzenegger I was raised watching his films and i think that made me want to get bigger etc also he is just so inspirational, a true lesson to show that if you are dedicated enough you can achieve anything. Oh and my mum as she must be a legend to put up with me haha!

What is your best personal achievement/s to date?

Um, its hard to say really its all just been incredible so far but probably the first time i bought  magazine with me on the cover that was pretty cool.

If you could go back in time what advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

Dont get tattoos and get into modelling sooner! Haha
