Ript Performance Clothing
– Ript Performance clothing contacted me to see if I would be interested in reviewing a few pieces from their new clothing range. They are a relatively new brand and having realised that I haven’t actually covered any clothing before I thought it was probably about time that I did.
I received two t-shirts and a pair of jogging pants. I’m not going to model them for you here. Ript have the talented Mike Thurston as their brand ambassador and he’ll do a much better job then I ever could.
The tapered jogging pants are great, the fit was spot on. The colour with the bright neon detailing is perfect with the dark grey and just the right amount of branding. I hate in your face branding and this isn’t that.
Ript believe in using the latest intelligent fabrics and innovative garment construction to match form with function. The fabric is breathable, easy to wash and has 4% elastane to allow a stretch fit. The pocket has an eyelet to allow your MP3 headphone cable to come out of it. Keeping your smartphone or MP3 player securely inside the pocket. Further eyelets are used to aid ventilation in ‘heat generation areas’ – between your legs to be blunt.
I’m a big fan of these joggers, so I brought the hoodie that goes with it. Yep I paid for it with my own money and everything! The hoodie is also excellent, same stretch fit which looks good even on me. Eyelets under the arms for additional ventilation, same subtle but distinct branding and nice lightweight mesh lined hood.
On to the two t-shirts which I am also very pleased with. I’m very broad shouldered for my frame and it can make finding a t-shirt that fits and looks good something of a challenge. These were perfect though and true to size (I’m a medium). The blue t-shirt is a stretch fit cotton and although the branding is a little larger than I would have liked the blue / white combination works and I feel comfortable wearing it in the gym.
The grey marl t-shirt is slightly more expensive than the standard blue cotton one. This is partly because of the extra stitching and detailing designed for freer movement and less irritation. But also because it is made from a quick drying polyester that is super light to wear and very comfortable to workout in.
A great range and promising start for Ript Performance clothing. The quality of the clothing is good, having washed my review items more than a few times now they still look fresh and new. Sizing is spot on and after washing there has been little to no shrinking, so go for your normal size.
Pricing is comparable to other brands and is about right for the design, detailing and fabrics used. A bit more choice in colours and ranges wouldn’t go a miss but hopefully that will come with time and new seasons collections.
Overall, definitely worth a look, recommended.
Prices start from £18.99 for t-shirts & £34.99 for the tech tapered pant. All from Ript Performance clothing.
